Paula's Review: Mat Velvet + Mattifying Foundation has a thin, fluid texture with enough slip to allow smooth blending before setting to a strong matte finish. Coverage goes from medium to almost full, and this foundation camouflages redness on skin quite well. The absorbent formula is ideal for oily to very oily skin, with the only caveat being the prominence of cornstarch and its potential for feeding the bacteria responsible for blemishes. Sixteen mostly impressive shades are available. The ones to avoid due to obvious peach or orange tones are Sand, Neutral Beige, and Golden Beige. Soft Beige and Honey Beige may be too peach for some skin tones, but are worth a look. Alabaster is a superb shade for very fair skin, while the Brown and Chocolate shades are gorgeous, non-ashy shades for ebony skin tones.
