Product's Claims: A skincare breakthrough, only from CHANEL. Youthful-looking skin requires more than a boost of collagen and elastin. It also requires tensin — a critical protein naturally abundant in young skin and the key to helping retain skin’s firmness. With the exclusive ingredient elemi PFA (a pure, potent, natural ingredient only from CHANEL), skin is able to restore tensin to its optimal levels, bringing lifting and firming effects to the entire lip area.
Paula's Review: This lip balm is so basic and boring that the price is a stinging insult. Both the allegedly special ingredients and the truly intriguing ingredients are present in the smallest amounts you can imagine, and for what Chanel is charging, these ingredients should be front and center. The big deal about this lip balm is that it stimulates the production of tensin, a protein in skin that specific cells produce as part of skin’s repair process, particularly when it is wounded. Of course, wrinkles aren’t the same as wounds, and there’s no research proving that stimulating tensin production in skin has a lifting or firming effect on skin anywhere on the face (or body, for that matter). This lip balm is a monumental waste of time and money, unless you think coating lips with plastic, talc, and wax is the pinnacle of anti-aging therapy.
